Betsy Smith, Founder

As a Certified Public Accountant, I earned my Master of Accounting at North Carolina State University in 1999 and obtained my North Carolina CPA License in 2003. Prior to founding my own practice, I gained over 20 years of experience working at renowned firms like Deloitte, Marcum LLP, and Savannah-based Hancock Askew & Co.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of serving as the Director of Finance at Prudence Crandall Center, a leading domestic violence shelter in Connecticut, as well as Plant Controller at Power Plant Management Services, LLC. These experiences allowed me to understand financial management in diverse sectors comprehensively.

Despite the challenging demands of my profession, I have also made time for family and others in my community. I am the proud mother of a son, Andrew, who graduated from Penn State and currently lives and works in Philadelphia, as well as a daughter, Lily, who is a passionate equestrian. I served on the Board of Education in Portland, Connecticut, taught CCD, and fulfilled many volunteer roles in the PTO and other local organizations.
